EO3/South Sea/Tortuga Island

From Etrian Odyssey Wiki
It is said that this island hides a buried pirate treasure. However, rumors are just wind... No treasure has been found on this island for decades. -Sea Quest Description

Tortuga Island is located southwest from Armoroad. The rocky landmass is the site for many a shipwreck, where treasures or parts can be salvaged from.

Steps

Click to reveal navigation solution

After first visiting Tortuga Island, a second trip to that point allows you to search the shipwrecks there to recover the Culverin, a cannon that lets you shoot down red pirate ships (including the one that stands guard just outside). A third and subsequent trip allows you to continue searching the wreckage for a chance at finding the Coral Necklace, though the rough seas may cause you to abandon the search and lose turns.

Sea Quests

The sea quests at Tortuga Island require you to put down the ghastly Ghost Ship.

Defeating the Ghost Ship for the first time unlocks the Aegis Defense Limit Skill, instead of the usual rewards.

The jeweled branch

I have new orders from my master, and have come to find the Jeweled Branch of Hourai. I hear it is hidden on Tortuga Island.
I wish to fulfill my master's wishes at all costs... Therefore I shall accept any help offered.

Companion:

  • Kirikaze (Level 32 Ninja, back row)

Kirikaze comes with a supply of 2 Medicas and an Amrita.

Kirikaze has a new trick up her sleeve - her clones can combine to unleash Tagen Battou/Drawing Slice and will do so the moment there's no room for any more clones. However, it's not incredibly strong, especially when she only uses it with one other clone out. Bring your best four members to compensate for her shortcomings.

Completing this quest for the first time earns you the Kirikaze Gi (Clothing, 32 DEF, )

Treasure Island

You heard the rumor about Tortuga Island? They say there's a pirate's treasure hidden there.
When it comes to treasure, I'm all in, but fighting... not so much.
I've got a drinking buddy along for the ride, but we need an escort!

Companions:

You may recognize these names if you've been gathering information from the bar patrons frequently. Dezerte comes with 2 Medicas and an Amrita, while Toma packs 8 Medicas and 3 Amritas.

Dezerte will bring Prevent Order to keep ailments off the party, Inspire to remove debuffs, and Ad Nihilo to purge the Ghost Ship's evasion buffs. She's a valuable asset in this fight as she'll counter the Ghost Ship's mechanics. Toma will try Strange Seeds for binding but will likely just toss around healing items to keep your party fresh. Field your damage dealers to make the most of the supporters.

Completing this quest for the first time earns you Toma's Knife (Knife, 34 ATK, )

The dutiful

I'm Zaby, lady captain of the most nefarious pirates to sail the seven seas, the Crossjanke!
Ayutthaya helped us after a navy skirmish, so we're returnin' the favor! If it's ghost ships ye be seeking, we'll show it no quarter!

Companions:

Zaby and her crew demonstrate teamwork with Zaby's Chase Thrust supported by her lackeys' Heavy Shots. That's about all they'll do, but they tend to run dry quickly, and they have no items on them. Bring support and supplies to keep them all in the game.

Completing this quest for the first time earns you the Crossjanke Bow (Crossbow, 78 ATK, )
