Once a part of Armoroad, the Abyssal Shrine has since sunk to the fourth stratum of the labyrinth. This temple is now overrun by the Deep Ones, piscine horrors that dwell in the oceans. The shrine has numerous gates that slam shut after the party passes through them and can only be unlocked by a nearby switch, which can trap both explorers and FOEs alike and become a major element in navigation puzzles here.
At the bottom of the shrine is a teleporter that leads to the royal forest.
There is also a secret area in its lower floors, locked by a door that will only open with the assistance of the Eldest One...

Missions
Decipher the Shrine's mysteries
- A facility used by the Abyssal King to communicate with Yggdrasil is somewhere in the Abyssal Shrine. Find that place and hear the voice of Yggdrasil.
- Reward: 8000en, 20000EXP per member
Deep City exclusive mission
Your task is to reach the northern room of B15F to commune with the Yggdrasil. Olympia will hand your party the Ibn Ghazi Powder that you need for this task. Once you reach the big open room in B15F, use the powder in the center of the northern wall for it to take effect. You'll receive knowledge from the tree itself... and it'll inform you that there's someone in Armoroad that's been corrupted by the Deep Ones in their plan to destroy the Yggdrasil. Take this revelation back to Seyfried, though you can go as far as B16F before the game blocks you from further progress until you turn the mission in.
On top of this information, Seyfried will mention that Kujura has been spotted searching for a flower called the Amarantos. It's poisonous to humans, but nourishment to the Deep Ones. This has all but confirmed Seyfried's suspicions.
Search for Amarantos
- Legends whisper of the Amarantos flower, which never wilts or loses its color. It may be found in the Abyssal Shrine; I need that flower to help the Princess.
- Reward: 8000en, 20000EXP per member
Armoroad exclusive mission
Flowdia speaks of the Amarantos flower which can help alleviate the Princess's illness. Kujura informs you that this flower is located in the northern room of B15F. Search the center of the northern wall of the room to find it. You can go as far as B16F before you're forced to turn in the mission before you can progress.
As thanks for finding the Amarantos, the Princess will explain that she's devised various methods to prolong her life, all in an attempt to find her brother who's gone missing 100 years ago. She believes that the Yggdrasil has destroyed his memory and he no longer recognizes her.
Locate the teleporter
- (Deep City) There is a teleportation device in the Fourth Stratum that leads to the Porcelain Forest. I want you to find it so we can protect the city of Armoroad.
- (Armoroad) It seems a teleportation device exists on the Fourth Stratum that connects to the Porcelain Forest. Find it before the denizens of the Deep City do!
- Reward: 13000en, 25000EXP per member
Regardless of who you've sided with, you'll be heading to the end of B16F for this mission. If you've sided with the Deep City, Kujura will call forth Shin to slow your advance. If you've sided with Armoroad, Olympia calls on Kirin instead. Defeat the boss, take your first steps into the Porcelain Forest, then return to your faction leader to turn in the mission.

Find the fruit in the dead end in B13F, sector D-6.

You need 30 points at minimum to qualify, but you can earn more rewards by accumulating more points.
Statues of Limitation
- When I entered the hall on B14F, a statue suddenly blocked my way, and I can't get any further. Get rid of it!
- Unlock: B14F
- Reward: Stun Hammer, 5200 EXP per member
When you enter the large room in sector A-4 of B14F, you'll be barred in by eight Pincer Statues. They don't give any reward for fighting them and do not get registered in the Monstrous Codex, so don't bother. Push each button (other than the X button; that resets the puzzle) on each side of the central pillar once to get all of them to disappear.
Treasures of the Depths
- There is a rumour that an ancient city sank to the bottom of the sea. Ancient means antiques! Get me some rare items!
- Unlock: B14F, complete "Letter in a Bottle II"
- Reward: Energy Bracelet (accessory) regardless of which antique you give.
- Stylish Pot: Death Magatama, 4000 EXP per member
- Old Coin/Large Plate/Statue: 3800 EXP per member
- Candlestick: Strength Ring, 4500 EXP per member
First, you can go to Napier's Firm and purchase an antique from her for 3000en. This can be turned in to complete the quest instantly.
If you refuse Napier's offer, she'll direct you to the bar. Speak with a patron and you'll learn they found the antique from rummaging through the junk piles in the northwest corner of B14F. You can find different items in that area, and your reward is different depending on what you got.
An Artisan's Curiosity
- I want to research new metals that have been appearing in Armoroad lately. I'll make you a weapon from what you bring!
- Unlock: B15F
- Reward: 4500 EXP per member and a weapon of your choice:
Obtain five Spearhead Chips from Deep Marines and a Damascus Edge by killing a Deep Raider with a bash attack.
Secrets on a Pedestal
- I found some strange stone tables in my attic. Can somebody find out what they're for?
- Unlock: B16F, complete Mission "Decipher the Shrine's Mysteries" or "Search for Amarantos"
- Reward: Plague Hammer, Plate Coat (heavy armor), 5500 EXP per member
You gain three tablets that must be inserted in the pedestal that is in the central room of B15F, right in front of the stairs leading down to B16F proper. Sky goes on top, Earth goes on left, Man on right. Bring the armor back to the bar.
A Comrade Sleeping Below
- The second I set foot in B15F, this crazy armored thing ran up and attacked me! Something's gotta be done!
- Unlock: B16F, complete Mission "Decipher the Shrine's Mysteries" or "Search for Amarantos"
- Reward: 6000en, 6000 EXP per member
Once you reach B15F you'll be alerted to the Roaming Spirit FOE. It will actively run from you, first falling into the pitfall you can chase it to. If you pursue it head-on it will outrun you, taking stairs and doors where appropriate.
Do not jump down the pitfall - instead, circumvent to the stairs leading to the narrow corridor where the pitfall would lead. Go down, and then corner the FOE at the end of this corridor.
