Story Mode Finale
- Explode - 170% fire damage to entire party
- Freezing - 170% ice damage to entire party
- Thunderstorm - 170% volt damage to entire party
- Demonic Rush (arms) - 3-6x 55% random melee stab attacks
- Land Slash (arms) - 4x 45% melee Cut attack to one target. Available as Enemy Grimoire Skill.
- Root Cyclone (legs) - 100% bash attack to entire party
- Activate (head) Multiplies ailment infliction rate by 3x for 5 turns. Available as Enemy Grimoire skill.
- Ancient Pollen (head) - 7% petrify/curse/fear/sleep/paralysis/panic/blind to entire party
- Necrosis (head) - 15% instant death to entire party
- Tangling Ray (legs) - 20% random binds to entire party
- Cell Membrane (arms) - Blocks attacks that were made on it, retaliating to the entire party with the same type of attack and inflicting the damage it would have received.
- King's Resolve (head) - Removes all buffs from the party
- Armageddon (head) - 180% almighty damage to entire party. Available as Enemy Grimoire skill.
- Segment - Restores a fixed amount of health. Healing amount increases if the Core was burst down such that it has skipped phases.
Superboss fight
- Explode - 450% fire damage to entire party
- Freezing - 450% ice damage to entire party
- Thunderstorm - 450% volt damage to entire party
- Demonic Rush (arms) - 3-6x 135% random melee stab attacks
- Land Slash (arms) - 4x 115% cut attacks to one target. Available as Enemy Grimoire skill.
- Root Cyclone (legs) - 420% bash attack to entire party
- Activate (head) - Multiplies ailment infliction rate by 5x for 5 turns. Available as Enemy Grimoire skill.
- Necrosis (head) - 15% instant death to entire party
- Ancient Pollen (head) - 10% petrify/curse/fear/sleep/paralysis/panic/blind to entire party
- Tangling Ray (legs) - 20% random binds to entire party
- Cell Membrane (arms) - Blocks attacks that were made on it, retaliating to the entire party with the same type of attack and inflicting 2.5x the damage it would have received.
- King's Resolve (head) - Removes all buffs from the party
- Armageddon (head) - 800% almighty damage to entire party. Available as Enemy Grimoire skill.
- Segment - Restores a fixed amount of health. Healing amount increases if the Core was burst down such that it has skipped phases.
Item Drops
- Demon Core - Only obtained from the final fight of Story Mode
- True Demon Core - Obtained in the post-game
Strategy
In the Story finale, the Highlander will use the Yggdra Vaccine to inflict 75,000 damage (or half that if he is in the back row) at the start of the fight. It then follows this attack pattern, attacking with significantly weakened numbers:
- Normal attack
- Explode/Freezing/Thunderstorm
- Land Slash/Demonic Rush
- Demonic Rush/Land Slash
- Root Cyclone
- Return to step 1
For step 2, it will use Explode on the first loop, then Freezing on the second, then Thunderstorm on the third, before returning to Explode. It randomly selects between Land Slash or Demonic Rush for step 3, and uses the other un-picked skill on step 4.
After the first time it is slain, the Yggdrasil Core gets back up and the party is thrown into an immediate rematch, only empowered to do triple damage to it. The attack pattern matches the post-game fight, but the Core still has the stats scaled to a party just at the end of the game, and they can easily overpower it with their newfound strength.
Postgame Fight
- An invisible countdown timer starts the moment the party ends their turn with 4 or more buffs among them.
- Countdown starts at 16 turns if there are 4-7 buffs across the party, 11 turns for 8-11 buffs, and 8 turns for 12-15 buffs.
- Timer pauses whenever there are 3 or fewer buffs across the party, but will not reset.
- Once timer reaches 0, pauses its current attack pattern to use King's Resolve to purge the party's buffs, which telegraphs Armageddon on the very next turn.
- 100%-81% HP:
- Necrosis
- Explode/Freezing/Thunderstorm
- Land Slash/Demonic Rush
- Demonic Rush/Land Slash
- Root Cyclone
- Return to step 2.
- On step 2, it chooses Explode first, then Freezing on the second loop, then Thunderstorm on the third.
- It randomly selects between Land Slash or Demonic Rush for step 3, and uses the other un-picked skill on step 4.
- 80%-61% HP:
- Segment (heals 9999 HP)
- Activate
- Entangling Ray/Necrosis/Ancient Pollen
- Land Slash/Demonic Rush (randomly)
- Cell Membrane
- Ancient Pollen/Entangling Ray/Necrosis
- Explode/Freezing/Thunderstorm
- Return to step 2.
- For steps 3, 6 and 7, it will use the first listed move, before using the next listed one whenever it repeats the loop.
- 60%-41%
- Starts with Segment (heals 9999 HP) before selecting between one of the two attack patterns:
- Pattern A:
- Explode/Freezing/Thunderstorm
- Freezing/Thunderstorm/Explode
- Land Slash/Demonic Rush (randomly)
- Root Cyclone
- Return to step 1 of either pattern.
- Pattern B:
- Explode/Freezing/Thunderstorm
- Land Slash/Demonic Rush (randomly)
- Thunderstorm/Explode/Freezing
- Root Cyclone
- Return to step 1 of either pattern.
- The first time it uses an elemental attack (regardless of pattern) it will choose Explode. For subsequent instances of elemental attacks it goes through a fixed rotation of Freezing → Thunderstorm → Explode.
- 40% HP and lower:
- Starts with Segment (heals 24000 HP) before selecting between one of the two attack patterns:
- Pattern C:
- Entangling Ray/Necrosis/Ancient Pollen (randomly)
- Land Slash/Demonic Rush (randomly)
- Explode/Thunderstorm/Freezing
- Thunderstorm/Freezing/Explode
- Root Cyclone
- Cell Membrane/Activate (randomly)
- Return to step 1 of either pattern.
- Pattern D:
- Entangling Ray/Necrosis/Ancient Pollen (randomly)
- Land Slash/Demonic Rush (randomly)
- Explode/Thunderstorm/Freezing
- Root Cyclone
- Freezing/Explode/Thunderstorm
- Cell Membrane/Activate (randomly)
- Return to step 1 of either pattern.
- The first time it uses an elemental attack in this phase, its chosen element is randomly selected. Every subsequent instance of an elemental attack follows a Explode → Thunderstorm → Freezing rotation.
